What is monochromatic painting?
One of the many joys of creating a painting is the free usage of colour. But what if you use just one colour and its tints and shades to create a piece of art? That is what we call monochromatic painting. The word “monochromatic” means “single color,” so this is a type of art in which the artist uses only one color to create their work. A monochromatic piece can be either monotone or tonal-that is, it can use only shades of one color (monotone) or all variations on a single hue (tonal). A brief history Monochromatic paintings have been around since ancient times; they’re thought to have originated with the Egyptians.
